Abruzzo earthquake displaced

On 6th April 2009 at 3:32 am, a massive earthquake, rated 5.8 on the Richter Scale occurred in the region of Abruzzo, Central Italy, leaving 307 dead and about 70,000 homeless. The epicenter was near L'Aquila, which together with surrounding villages suffered most damages.

Most of the displaced survived for more than six months in tented camps, caravans, containers and train berths.

This work is part of the exhibition "Abruzzo 2009", that has been displayed at Dal Verme Theater in Milan, and in various locations around Italy to thank all the volunteers who operated during the emergency. Published in Burn Magazine.
